If there is one word that could define this year 2020 is the word 'GRATITUDE'. The very fact that I am drafting this message seeing everyone in the family in good health is more than enough a reason to be grateful for.
The first among the list are our farmers who made sure we had sufficient food to ourselves and our families during the troubled times. Our soldiers those withstood constant aggression from China putting their life at stake. The doctor and nursing fraternity, that stood upto the job like never before staying away from their families to save the mankind. Also the other frontline COVID warriors. Cudos to all of them. Your courage has always reminded and reinforced us towards our responsibilities.
Next, I must mention the governments, both at the centre and the state. They broke all records, in terms of scale of operation, to reach out to the have-nots. I never saw our govt so proactive and as much in action as they did during the pandemic. It was visible. Pace of decision making was at its all time best. All leaders, including our own prime minister, those led from the front and by example. Kept their focus all during the pandemic, undeterred throughout the unprecedented times. Govt went on to prove, private sector is no parallel to the govt when it comes to service and putting people first. I am sure, I am not mincing words.
Teaching fraternity that rose to the occasion by adopting themselves to the new teaching learning pedagogy and made sure that the learning gaps amongst our children is the minimum.
The courts that never stayed stagnant and passed judgements on long pending and controversial issues in the way most are satisfied. They did a fairly good job guiding the govt and keeping them under check and making them more accountable.
The corporates who went out of their ways to contribute in the good interest of the nation and its people. The common people who reached out to those in need in the way they found possible. All private managements who stood by their employees in the time of need.
Last but not the least, our families that made sure the smile on the face is never disappeared. The faces of our children, that assured us all 'this too shall pass' and better days endure. Staying indoors with our families was never more rewarding.
The most important lesson to draw from this pandemic is - time is very precious and not to take it for granted. This, I think, should allow us to re work on our priorities on the basis of life values. The fact that the entire globe was on the same plane is a message to the entire human race to work together for the good of all. This learning would surely make 2021 a better year for all of us.
I wish you a very happy new year 2021!!
